THE PUBLIC MIND: GROUP THANKS SOUTHEAST HOSPITAL FOR NEW PSYCHIATRIC UNIT

To the Editor:

On behalf of those in Southeast Missouri that suffer from mental illness, we wish to express our deepest appreciation to Southeast Missouri Hospital administrators, Board of Trustees, and our local psychiatrists for their support and our new psychiatric unit.

We were kept informed by a consulting psychiatrist of the progress and development, and were able to pass this information on to all concerned clients and family members.

In the future, we would welcome any opportunity to support and educate the public about mental illnesses and the viable treatments available. This may, some day, help eliminate some of the suffering due to myths, stigma and discrimination.
