I JUST wanted to let everyone know what a great school Oran has. The teachers and staff are really wonderful. I recently moved to another town and holding down two jobs made it difficult for me to get my son to school on time as he had four or five weeks to finish. He had thought about dropping out. But the principal and counselor talked to him and the principal, so caring and dedicated as he is to all his students, volunteered to pick my son up as he passed through town on his way to school. I would like to thank him for being kind to my son.
THE ANSWER to the pro-life question in Thursday's paper is that everything possible should be done to save both the lives. Each life is precious. One life may be lost but the situation described is very rare. Most caring mothers would give their lives for their baby. We have read about fathers or mothers who have snatched their young children from the road in front of a car or gone into a burning building to rescue their child, sacrificing their own lives. Most parents would do that.
THIS IS for a random act of kindness today was performed by Dr. Tom Gibbons on Darren Neader. He got some stuff in his eyes and we took him to Dr. Tom Gibbons and he washed his eyes out and didn't charge him anything.
I THINK it takes courage to criticize Clinton. And Mrs. Clinton's name is not Miss Willie. It is Ms. Hillary Clinton. And yes, I do feel like she has been shamed and you know, it may take a lot for us to explain to our grandchildren about the president that we've had, Bill Clinton. But I remember back even years ago when President Nixon was impeached. It took a lot to explain, well, why was that president impeached, grandma? It's not just Clinton. Every president that we've had has made mistakes. They have to live by them. He'll live by this for the rest of his life. I think we need to look at him as we would look at ourselves. No one on this Earth is perfect. Only Jesus Christ, our Lord, was perfect. We have to give honor where it is due. He's still the president. I think Mrs. Clinton should be honored enough to be called Mrs. Hillary Clinton, not Mrs. Willie.
I WOULD sincerely appreciate the Missourian printing this answer to the person that went after a serious question about the mother's life in regard to pro-life. First and foremost, you said pro-life people were mother killers. The caller asked about the mother's life if it came to a decision in regard to her health and did not call anyone mother killers. I've heard people actually say, if it comes down to it, my wife understands we will save the baby. If it comes to my wife, I will have to think about it. The problem is pro-life or pro-choice does not mean the same thing to everyone.
I WAS wondering how much longer it would be before Cape gets a siren. We have places to entertain but no way to maintain life. We also need our own power system. Not only would the utilities be cheaper, we would also have a place to pay the bills. We will be going into the year 2000 soon but Cape is still in the late 80s.
IN GRATEFUL acknowledgement to all the merchants and participants of Brothers Lounge for their fund raiser. These monies will be used for fencing and all playground equipment for the security and safety of the foster children. Thank you again.
I'M CALLING, I've been left all alone in the dark. The residents have not been taken care during the blackout. Businesses have been taken but the residents are just as important as the businesses. We was left alone in the dark, left alone to protect our own property. Not one time did I see the police drive down the residential area during the blackout, seeing that there's no crime going on. We had to sit up all night long with our pistols in our hands or slept with it by our head to protect our own property. I do not think that this was very fair.
