Relief for taxpayers
WE FINALLY have some people with common sense in Jefferson City. The state budget doubled in the last 10 years, thanks to the Democrats. Yet the services did not improve that much. Now we have some common sense in Jefferson City. We taxpayers got some needed relief.
Like vintage wine
LOSING DAVE Courvoisier is like losing a vintage bottle of wine. You won't know what you've lost until it's gone. Courvoisier's style and personality on screen made him enjoyable to watch and someone to admire. His charitable works will be a lasting legacy to his contributions to this area.
Losing combination
IT SOUNDS like the governor better batten down the hatches and get ready to weather the storm of controversy. He's anti-Second Amendment and pro-abortion, a losing combination if he wants to represent the people of Missouri.
Use the fines
THIS IS regarding the city's water project. It was supposed to be done by Feb. 18, 2002, and the contractor is subject to a $1,000-a-day fine for every day past that deadline. If the city is really as broke as it says it is, this is a solution to the financial shortage. Collect the $1,000--a-day fine from the construction company and buy the necessary equipment the city needs. There shouldn't be a need to vote for more new taxes if the city would use this money wisely.
