Texting in Cape Girardeau is getting to be a really bad problem. I think that insurance companies, including my insurance company, should have a policy statement that anybody that has an accident who is texting, that the insurance will automatically not cover this. I think that would help out if the insurance companies would start applying that to the policies.
Seems like Southeast Missouri State University is wasting a lot of money, $190-some-thousand, to hire some firm to tell them how to get more students. They can't use the college profs and whatever they have available and figure that problem out? I say they're just wasting money.
I want to thank this newspaper for writing another article in remembrance of the 2011 flood in the area of Pinhook. Yes, it was very good of you to write the article, but there is one thing that we need to emphasize. There was no reason for the Corps of Engineers to ever blow up the levee. This newspaper has a picture online of water coming over the levee. It was already overtopped before the engineers blew up the levee. If they left it to natural overtopping, the water would not have gotten any deeper in Cairo and there would have been much less destruction around the area of Pinhook.
I wonder where our Christian officials, Republican or Democrat or Independent, how they think that they can change the climate. Don't they realize that God is the only one that makes the rain? He makes the stuff. He makes everything. And the climate is caused and brought about by God not man. This is terrible. It's disgusting. But man cannot change the weather. Only God can.
I would like to comment to all the people who support green energy. Well, you're getting ready to pay for it now, because I just saw where the major coffee companies have gone green. And now coffee is going to go up 10 percent. So enjoy the green prices.
It's Wednesday 25th, 1:10 p.m. Three vehicles come up to the lights at Center Junction. Lights are yellow then turn red. First and third vehicles stop for a red light. Second does not slow down, swings around first vehicle and blows through the red light. Thank God the cars on the green light side did not take off. That box truck could have killed someone and the "uniforms" may not have been delivered.
"Nunsense" at the River Campus was such a wonderful play. We all had a great time. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Congratulations to everyone involved.
Most of all, think. But first of all, learn the facts before you vote. The house has passed bill on top of bill and sent to the senate to vote on, but Harry Reid, the senate majority leader, (D. Nevada) will not even bring any of it up to vote. So that is why the do-nothing Congress hasn't done anything. The problem lies with him. But the mainstream media will not tell you that.
