I think comparing Chris Christie to Benghazi is ridiculous. Two different things. The people in the Missouri Legislature are once again considering gun nullification of federal law, a nutty idea already ruled crazy by the courts. How much more taxpayer money is going to be wasted by cowardly legislators patronizing the crazies among us?...

Christie, Benghazi

I think comparing Chris Christie to Benghazi is ridiculous. Two different things.

Nutty idea

The people in the Missouri Legislature are once again considering gun nullification of federal law, a nutty idea already ruled crazy by the courts. How much more taxpayer money is going to be wasted by cowardly legislators patronizing the crazies among us?

Gut voting

Michael Jensen's mini-manifesto lamenting the existence of low-information voters is based on a false premise. It assumes that voters are rational and if presented with accurate information will choose the correct candidates, presumably the ones favored by Mr. Jensen. Voters are not rational. They base their votes on a kind of gut feeling they have about which candidate is best. This is not necessarily a bad thing. Of course, it's not perfect, as best proven by the election of George W. Bush.

Senator's response

I recently sent both of our senators a plea to turn up the heat on the Pentagon to get a POW released that has been held captive for five years. I received a form letter from Sen. Claire McCaskill of how she supports religious freedoms. What is that about? It is apparent neither she nor her staff reads anything that is sent her way, as this is not the first time she has responded with an off-the-wall form letter. She must be so busy representing all of us Missourians she just can't intelligently respond to her mail.

Public safety

After hearing of the events at the rap concert at Arena Park and the events that transpired throughout the city after the event, I can honestly say that I no longer feel safe living in Cape Girardeau and operating a business. From everything I hear, the Cape Police Department lost total control of the city.

Tight pants

Girls and women leave nothing to the imagination with the clothes they wear now. They might as well walk around nude. Their black pants they wear now fit like a layer of skin. They should take more pride in themselves.

Marxism

Let us be clear. When one says they want to battle "income inequality," it means they support Marxism. There is no sugarcoating it. When one says they blame the 1 percent, they are subscribing to mercantilism, which has been proven time and time again to be nonsense. If you think the world is a better place than it was in 1700, do not vote for any politician advocating income equality, social justice, or blaming the nation's problems on a small group of people.

Bush's fault

If a huge snowstorm had hit Atlanta six years ago and the state failed to get the roads cleaned, it would have been George Bush's fault, just like it was in Katrina.
