BOB Miller's Ron Paul libertarian looniness was on full display in his opposition to school uniforms for the Cape Girardeau Public School District. One of his arguments was that such a policy will interfere with students' ability to express their individuality. Give me a break. Another argument was that he is still against it even though it would be easier for him to get his son dressed and off to school. Just have him put on one of the uniforms and off he goes. To me, Miller just might be mouthing the opposition of his teenager to the school uniform proposal. I am not ready to say that the tail is wagging the dog, but I would sure like to hear his son's opinion.
I would like to thank the person by McDowell South in Jackson that on Jan. 4 had their Christmas lights on. It was just so beautiful, and it cheered me up. I just love that tree. My mother would have turned off the lights right at New Year's Day because she would have said that is what is appropriate, but I am glad some people leave their lights on longer, because it really did cheer me up.
WOULD we, the Jackson residents, want quarries surrounding Immaculate Conception, Jackson public schools or St. Paul? Then why do we want to allow it in Fruitland? Please vote no on Feb. 7.
THE TV shows a rosy picture on things in this country, but AM talk radio is a much different perspective.
I was calling about the "Lessons in Legos" story. It blows my mind that we now need a doctor to tell us how to use building blocks to teach management. Wow, what is the world coming to?
