Fattening subsidy

THE FOOD we eat may be a matter of personal choice, but it was the government's decision to subsidize corn, a crop used to make fructose syrup, which is a very fattening sweetener added to practically everything we consume. If we don't force our legislators to stop the corn subsidies, I believe the continental United States will sink because of the collective weight of the obese.

Modesty decision

Robed for the wash

TO THE individual who complained about the girls at the church car wash who were wearing bikinis: The weather was hot, and they were obviously going to get wet. I suppose they could have worn dresses or borrowed some choir robes.

Personal decision

I AM tired of hearing the "Click It or Ticket" public service announcements. I do not support this law. I believe that wearing my seat belt should be my decision, not the government's. If it's my turn to go, I will go with or without a seat belt on.
