Do more research
I TOTALLY agree with Michelle Malkin's column "Beware of vaccine bullies." People are always saying how your child has to be vaccinated before they can get into schools and day cares, when in truth they don't. They just have to have a form signed by the state. I have also done research on childhood vaccines in medical books. There are more risks than benefits. There are many side effects caused by the vaccines, including autism. The vaccines don't even guarantee your child won't get the virus. How many of us still got the chickenpox, measles or mumps? I think people should do more research instead of automatically thinking they have to get their child vaccinated.
Who's being served?
WHEN YOU volunteer time or help others and don't tell anyone else, you're helping others. But when you help others and then tell everybody about it, you're only helping yourself.
Having their way
PRESIDENT BUSH frequently says that if some politicians in Washington had their way Saddam Hussein would still be in power. More to the point, if some politicians had their way 500 young Americans would still be alive, billions of dollars would not be necessary and the budget would be in less of a deficit. The National Guard would not be bogged down in a country far away but would be home available to defend the homeland.
Which is worse?
WE HAVE one president who lied about a sex scandal and another who lied about weapons of mass destruction. Which do you think is the worse president?
Special caregivers
MANY NEGATIVE things have been said about nursing homes. Not all of my experience was good, but there was a group that will always have a place in my heart. My dad was in a nursing home over six years. The 3-to-11 shift was what all nursing homes should Be. They were the hardest working, most compassionate and loving people you could pray to take care of a loved one. We were at the home daily and sometimes twice daily and saw how dedicated to all the residents this group was. I will always feel truly blessed they were his caregivers.
Real concerns
I'M NOT concerned about whether a Republican or Democrat makes a good commander in chief. I care about whether as commander in chief our president abuses his power, makes poor foreign policy decisions and enters into war with poor intelligence and no exit strategy.
Lousy entertainers
I MISSED the Super Bowl halftime show. I chose to play Scrabble online instead. Not because I would have been offended by a bare breast, but because all of the halftime entertainment was corporate homogenized bull. Let's face it. Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, Steven Tyler and that redneck from Texas are all terrible.
Get rid of the bozos
DO THESE Bush folks take us all for idiots? First they go out of their way to create the impression that Iraq, with its weapons of mass destruction is an imminent threat. Then when this is revealed to be a pile of lies, they claim they never said it. We must get these bozos out of the White House before they start a third world war.
Good deed brightens day
I WOULD like to express my thanks to the nice young man on the red tractor in Pocahontas for blading our county road. You brightened up the gloomy day with your thoughtfulness. Thank you very much. The county should appreciate you also.
Military qualifications
DAVID LIMBAUGH'S assertion that none of the Democratic presidential candidates is qualified to be commander in chief is ridiculous. The Democratic candidates include a four-star general with 30 years of experience and a three-time medal winner in Vietnam. Voters may wish to compare the current White House occupant's questionable service in the Texas Air National Guard. Would Limbaugh feel comfortable to make this the only issue in the 2004 presidential election?
