It's a busy weekend for Southeast Missouri State University as friends and family come back to Cape Girardeau for Family Weekend. The weekend includes the university's first home football game.

The Redhawks football team kicked off its season on Saturday at the University of Missouri. Though they ultimately lost 34-3, the Redhawks, huge underdogs against a nationally ranked team, played tough on defense and the offense played its game conservatively, a move that was intentional by the coaches.

This week's opponent is a regional rival. The Southern Illinois Salukis will be at Houck Field at 6 p.m. Saturday.
