To the editor:
I am the founder-secretary of Bharathiya Prani Mithra Sangh, and I strongly recommend H. Morley Swingle, Cape Girardeau County prosecuting attorney to take stringent action regarding a Missouri man reportedly convicted of felony cruelty-to-animals charges now facing four years behind bars. His prosecutor, who on Sept. 13 will recommend a sentence for the convict, is apparently planning on suggesting that he not spend a single day in jail. I hope he will change his mind.
Eric Lee Ford, 45, of Cape Girardeau, allegedly tortured and killed a cat. Ford apparently squeezed the animal and threw it against a wall before fatally stomping it. Those who live in a highly educated society should not permit such atrocities toward mute animals.
