Public funding for campaigns

To the editor:The Nathan Cooper campaign-money disposal frolic again demonstrates the ludicrous tragedy of our system of financing political campaigns.

It is too bad that our citizens cannot understand that the only solution is public-supported campaign financing. Only then can we put the moneyed special-interest lobbyists on the sidelines so that elected officials can deal with their constituencies.
