Dear Editor:
It is with a certain sense of sadness I bring to a close my practice here in Cape Girardeau and leave for parts west. It has been a distinct pleasure and an honor to be associated with such a highly skilled, high quality medical community. The doctors and hospitals in Cape Girardeau are certainly to be complimented on the quality of health care that is being delivered at this time.
To the nurses I give great thanks. Without good nurses a great doctor is no doctor at all. With good nurses a mediocre doctor can become a great doctor. Cape has been blessed with many dedicated professional nurses who spend many extra hours making sure the patients in our hospitals and in our offices get the very best of care that can be rendered. To each and every nurse I owe a great debt of gratitude.
Cape Girardeau has been a great area in which to live. I have been very lucky that the citizenry, merchant and business men have always been very supportive of the medical community and of high quality medical care and I pray they continue in this.
I count it a great privilege to have been able to take care of and to be acquainted with so many people of this are during the years I have been here. This is a land of good people. It has been an exceptional pleasure to have worked with several office staffs, first at the Internal Medicine Group and later with my own private practice staff. In a sense leaving my own staff is like having part of my family broken apart or having part of it grow up and leave home. Those doctors and hospitals who will be benefiting from their availability in the community are very lucky indeed.
To all I say thank you. It has been a privilege and pleasure.
Sincerely,
James R. Dzur, M.D.
Cape Girardeau
