On Tuesday, the voters of Cape Girardeau County will choose a Republican nominee for public administrator. This office has many demands and the diversity of the right candidate is extremely important in meeting those needs. Back in February of this year, on the first day of filing to run for public office, I was quoted in the Southeast Missourian newspaper as stating: "I personally made the decision not to file and run for this office upon learning that Julie Metzger would be in the race. I looked at her qualifications and 25 years of experience and knew she was the best person for the job."

Julie Metzger brings to the office the right touches of compassion and sensitivity to the welfare of those in need. I have seen the work she has done as a bereavement counselor, advising the public on advanced directives and as head of case management at Southeast Hospital. In every situation she has done her work with passion, detail and a commitment to understanding what is right.

On Tuesday please join me in voting for the most qualified candidate -- Julie Metzger for public administrator.
