LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: BUSH COMMENT ISN'T SO EASY TO EXPLAIN AWAY
To the editor: The open-microphone comment about the New York Times reporter will probably not hurt George W. Bush. Cursing someone in private will not affect the pro-Bush vote. A Bush spin doctor will explain to us with a chuckle that reporters are anti-family and are in cahoots with Democrats anyway...

If Bush would have whispered to the grinning Dick Cheney to look at the size of the woman's breasts in Row 3, I'm not sure what the Republican base would do.
