LETTERS: TEN RIGHTEOUS PEOPLE IN COGRESS?

To the editor:

From your newspaper and national television news, I am reading and hearing that the members of the House and Senate do not have the stomach for impeachment and conviction of Bill Clinton. Evidently, very few members feel their own backgrounds are clear enough to cast stones at the president.

Is Washington so rotten that the character of our nation's lawmakers has fallen to the level written about in Genesis? In Chapter 18 of the first book of the Bible, Abraham pleaded with the Lord to spare Sodom and Gomorrah if as few as 10 righteous people could be found in those cities. Today, are there 10 righteous lawmakers to save our decency.

Please reread Genesis to remember how God treated all of that immorality.
