While some recognition has been previously given to the outstanding accomplishments of both of Southeast Missouri State University's basketball teams during the past season, I would like to add my appreciation to them for jobs well done.

Besides their successes teamwise, NCAA Division I statistics reveal that the girls had the best foul shooter in the country and that she finished 5 percentage points ahead of the second-place finisher. I don't know if SEMO has ever had an athlete who was the best in the United States before. In addition, Miss Corder had the fourth-highest single-game point total in Division I. As a team, the girls had the third-highest foul shooting percentage in Division I.

The men had their share of nation honors also as William "Bud" Eley was sixth-best in number of rebounds per game. Also, despite missing a few foul shots late in the season, Cory Johnson came in 13th in Division I, which is very good.

So congratulations to the coaches and players for having great seasons, and thanks to all of the players for giving their fans so many thrills.
