To the editor:
Scrooge is at his worst during this special holiday. He has burned people's homes, trashed their dreams and lied to themt o the extent that they have come to believe it. Scrooge comes in many forms. He is the short in the wiring, the thief who steals our dreams, the vandal who needlessly destroys for pleasure and, worst of all, the spinner of lies that separate family and friends. I have heard some sad tales this christmas, from people asking forgiveness to blatant destruction of lives. I hope for all a merry Christmas and may your blessings out weigh all else.
One acquaintance wanted to see his mother this Christmas, which he had not done in a while. He was not sure if she would forgive him for some untold thing he had done. I told him that a mother's love will forgive most anything. I wish him a merry Christmas.
Another story involves the vandalism of a home and the theft of all the presents. The vandals failed in the attempt to ruin this Christmas. I still have gifts at my home for them. I invite them to my home and wish them a merry Christmas.
To the families whose homes have had an untimely destruction, I hope their families take them in and get them back on their feet. I also wish them a merry Christmas.
To the families who have lost a loved one, I especially wish you a merry Christmas.
For the people who have no family left, I hope your friends are dear. I hope they come to see you and fill your day with cheer. I also wish you a merry Christmas.
To the families who have been destroyed by lies, I pray God gives you the wisdom to see, the humanity to forgive and the love you deserve. But most of all I wish you a merry Christmas.
