To the editor:
I never cease to be impressed with the many attractive and even newsy advertisements that appear in the Southeast Missourian each day. What used to take only a few short moments to glance at has truly become attractive items that catch the eye as soon as one opens the paper. Not only are the advertisements attractive, they serve salesmanship.
Many years back, the daily edition of the newspaper was much different and less attractive. The lengthy death items sent in by families were without charge. The column entitled "Personal" was popular at all times.
Least attractive today in the Missourian, I am sorry to say but agreed by many, is the editorial page, where various items have become limited to a smaller space with summing up by smaller print.
The columns by David Limbaugh are indeed interesting and a joy to read. I find them always to be truthful and often written from a religious viewpoint. The columns written by Mark Bliss are also a favorite among many and touch everyone in some way. I always look forward to both with anticipation.
