Jackson Project Charlie would like to thank all of its wonderful sponsors and volunteers.

Project Charlie is a special drug abuse program that tells each child, "You are someone special." Charlie is an acronym for Chemical Abuse Resolution Lies in Education. Project Charlie originated in 1976 in Edina, Minn. It was designed for elementary schoolchildren grades kindergarten through six. Project Charlie is being used in hundreds of schools and communities in the United States and Canada. Project Charlie has been in Jackson for 11 years and is used in second and fourth grades. Project Charlie promotes the social and emotional growth of children and discourages chemical use as a way of avoiding problems. Children are exposed to and experimenting with chemicals at an earlier age. Project Charlie attacks the problem in primary grades. Project Charlie is important for not just our children, but for their peers and friends.

Jackson Project Charlie has been blessed with some wonderful businesses and volunteers for their unselfish time and love promoting a strong relationship and firm foundation for saying no: Dr. Don Dennington, Dr. Richard Kies, Farmers Insurance Group, Boatmen's Bank, Sanders Hardware, Union Planters Bank, Sievers Sheet Metal, Procter & Gamble Paper Products, Ross Furniture, Jackson Tire Center, Jackson Wal-Mart, Cracraft-Miller Furniture and Decorating, Delmonicos, Cape Girardeau Area Medical Society Alliance, Cape Girardeau County Medical Auxiliary, Oak Ridge Homemakers FCE, Sally Burke, Jackson Citgo, Telephone Pioneers and facilitators.

The children benefit greatly from the videos and resource books. Whether the volunteers and sponsors gave money, supplies or time, we appreciate all they've done and thank them very much.
