To the editor:
Cal Thomas hit the nail on the head with his commentary on the cancellation of Paramount's television talk show hosted by pop advice dispenser Dr. Laura Schlessinger. The homosexual advocate groups are using the very tactics they claim to oppose. Groups like GLAAD are trying to promote tolerance and diversity for the homosexual lifestyle, yet when someone of Schlessinger's stature opposes them, she is labeled dangerous, hateful and intolerant. All of this in the name of diversity.
I'm very concerned about the complacency of the public on this issue. This is about true freedom of speech, but people don't seem to care. If these groups continue to use intolerance and censorship to advance their cause, it will only increase their power to limit free expression.
True freedom of speech is under attack at the hands of the politically correct thinkers who can't tolerate views other than their own. And, the political correctness folks are very well-organized, with friends in high places. Supporters of true freedom of speech can no longer sit idly by, or we will surrender our right to freedom of speech to the power of politically correct groups. As Schlessinger says on her radio show, the majority has been disorganized for too long. Folks, it's time for the majority to organize and fight back.
