To the editor:On Jan. 28 I went to the Wal-Mart in Jackson. I put my purse in my cart so I could keep my hands warm. After putting my purchases in my vehicle, I pushed the cart into the cart holder.

I didn't realize until I got home that I must have left my purse in the cart. I was distraught. I tend to think the worst of others, especially since I read so many negative stories. God wanted to teach me a lesson.

I drove back to the cart holder. My cart was gone. At that moment a boy was retrieving carts, and I asked if he had seen my purse. He said another cart pusher had found it and had taken it to the service desk. I walked inside and was more hopeful.

My purse was at the service desk. Not checking the contents, I said thank you and left.

I pondered all the thoughts running through my head before and after my purse was found. I sat in my vehicle asking God to pour blessings on the honest person who found my purse and to forgive me for my unfaithfulness.

My lesson was that I cannot go by all the bad things in the news, but to trust in God's faithfulness to show me he is still with me and with others. I still do not know the name of the person who found my purse, but I am grateful. He can expect many blessings in return for his obedience to God.
