Last season, thanks to community support, we received over $5,800 in donations towards the Salvation Army's community meals. This year, our 9th annual Empty Bowls banquet will be from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Salvation Army, 701 Good Hope. Admission is $12 at the door for a soup meal and handmade ceramic bowl with all proceeds benefiting the Salvation Army's meals with friends program.
Also, we will have a booth (No. 97) at the Arts Council-sponsored craft show located at the Osage Centre, 1625 North Kingshighway. The craft show is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 22 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 23. Please stop by our booth and check out the artist-made bowls. They make great Christmas gifts!
Thank you for continuing to help us locally "fight hunger one bowl at a time."
