In response to "Girl's goal line in football": I was a former player on the eighth-grade Central Junior High School football team. Like Alex Weinhold, I did not get a lot of playing time. I do not appreciate the article. I felt it slandered our football team. I have no remembrance of anyone physically hurting Alex, throwing grass or footballs like it says in the article. The reason she did not play was not because she was a girl, but because her athletic abilities were not as good as the other players. I have nothing against Alex. She is very nice if you know her. I just don't appreciate how the article betrayed the team as a bunch of bullies. She got the same treatment and chance that the other players got. Please, next time choose your words more carefully and don't mislead readers.
