It is going to be a peachy weekend in Campbell, as the city hosts its annual peach festival. Long known as the peach capital of Missouri, Campbell has hosted the festival for 64 years. "Miss Peach" beauty pageants will be held Friday and Saturday, and there will be a parade Saturday morning. The celebration will be at the Campbell Community Center, U.S. 62 West. Caruthersville Riverfront Park, Caruthersville, Mo.
Come get your meat and eat it, too, at the 25th annual Meat on the Mississippi Barbeque Cook-Off in Caruthersville. Barbecue wings, butts and sauce cook-offs will take place Friday and Saturday. The weekend will also feature a "womanless" beauty pageant, a martial arts demonstration and music concerts. Festivities kickoff at 5 p.m. today and last through Saturday. Admission is $2. Peace Through Pyramids City Museum, St. Louis
An elite youth circus troupe from Israel will perform tricks alongside a St. Louis youth circus troupe Saturday at the City Museum in St. Louis. The Galilee Circus of Israel and the St. Louis Arches have been brought together in order to show it's a person's actions, not background, that make a difference in human relations. The troupes will perform at 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday, with two more shows Aug. 11 and 12. The show is free with a $12 museum admission charge.
