Southeast's Noonan to perform Sunday concert

Jeffrey Noonan, an assistant professor of music at Southeast Missouri State University, will present a solo faculty recital at 3 p.m. Sunday at Christ Episcopal Church at 101 N. Fountain St. The recital is free and open to the public and will consist of the solo lute music of English composer John Dowland. Ballet Internationale performs March 5 at SIU

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Ballet Internationale will perform at SIU's Shryock Auditorium on March 5 at 7:30 p.m. The group will perform highlights from classical ballets including "Carmen," "Don Quixote" and "Carnival in Venice." Florsheim exhibit opens March 4 at Southeast

"Prints by Richard Florsheim," an exhibit of lithographs created between 1946 and 1972, opens March 4 in the Southeast Missouri Regional Museum at Southeast Missouri State University. The lithographs on display will span his entire career as an internationally known printmaker, painter, sculptor, educator and writer. The exhibit will remain on display through March 24. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, free of charge. For more information call 651-2260.

Poetry Coffee House Monday at library

A Poetry Coffee House celebrating black poetry and poets will be held at the Cape Girardeau Public Library at 7 p.m. Monday. The event is free and open to the public. For more information call 334-5279.

Cape Girardeau artist exhibits work at Anna

ANNA, Ill. -- The Shawnee Community College Anna Center will feature the work of Cape Girardeau artist Anita Dickerson throughout the month of March. Dickerson's work emphasizes portraits in a variety of media and landscape painting in watercolors and oils. The exhibit is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

Cape Central Orchestra in concert Tuesday

The Cape Central Freshman and Varsity Orchestras will present a concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Commons at Cape Central High School. The public is invited to attend and the event is free of charge.
