Show Me Center hosts the 14th Annual IPRA Rodeo

Fans no doubt will recognize some of the more famous bulls from their appearance on the televised Bull Riding Tour at the Show Me Center Rodeo. The rodeo features only the top livestock in Pro-Rodeo. Champion Jet McCoy will be on hand. At just 21 years old, McCoy has already accomplished more in his young career than what most cowboys could ever hope to do in their entire career. He ended the 2000 season with the 2000 IPRA All-Around World Champion title.

Friday, Feb. 1 is family bargain day - all general admission seats are $10 and the show begins at 8pm. Reserved seats are $15. There will be a 1:30pm matinee on Saturday, Feb. 2. All seats are half price to juniors (12 years and under) or seniors 60 years and over. Regular prices are $12 and $15. On Sat. at 8 p.m. group and advances tickets are available at a discount. Shades of Blue Jazz Ensemble

The United States Air Force Band of Mid-America "Shades of Blue Jazz Ensemble" is a group of 18 musicians whose perform everything from traditional big band and swing music to modern jazz. They have backed jazz greats such as Tex Benecki, Denis DiBlasio, Jamey Aebersold, Mike Smith, Bobby Shew, Allen Vizzutti, Jeff Jarvis, Mike Vax, Vaughn Nark, Bill Porter, Carmen Bradford, Shirley Chauvin, Steve Smith, Steve Houghton and Walt Levinsky. They also play frequent tributes to the Air Force's musical heritage, and have collaborated with actor Wilford on a highly acclaimed salute to Major Glenn Miller.

Free tickets to the performance are available at the Southeast Missourian. Performance is at Cape Central Auditorium, February 9, 7 p.m.

There's A Phantom In The House

Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera" will be performed at the St. Louis Fox Theatre beginning February 13.

The story of a masked figure lurking beneath the catacombs of the Paris Opera House has captured audiences for years making it the most successful entertainment venture of the twentieth century. The phantom falls madly in love with an innocent young soprano, Christine, and devotes his time to creating a new star by nurturing her extraordinary talents and employing all of the devious methods at his command.

Performances are from Feb. 13 for a limited return engagement of four weeks through Sat. March 9. Call (314)534-1111 for tickets.
