Forget Brad Pitt. Southeast Missouri State University's Department of Theatre and Dance is getting Trojan.
The department will open its 2005-2006 season with the classic Greek tragedy "The Trojan Women," written by Euripides and first performed in 415 B.C.
The play will tug on heartstrings, as it tells the tale of the women of Troy, waiting to be made slaves by the Greeks after their great city was conquered.
The themes of war and loss are as relevant today as ever, with conflict in the Middle East and disaster on American shores.
The play debuts Sept. 30 and runs through Oct. 9. For more information on times and tickets call 651-2265.
