Chuck McGinty of Mid-Life Crisis gives some of his favorites from his youth.
1. "How Much is that Doggy in the Window"
This is just a happy song.
2. "Puffin' Billy," Captain Kangaroo theme song by Edward G. White
One of the highlights of my childhood was getting to watch Captain Kangaroo.
3. "Pink Panther" theme song.
From the Peter Sellers movie. That song would just stick in my head
4. "William Tell Overture," opening song for "The Lone Ranger," by Rossini
That was such an exciting song.
5. "Layla," Derek and the Dominoes
It's just a masterpiece. The way it transitions toward the end of the song where it goes into the piano part just gives me chills every time I hear it.
