Outside the mind of Laurence Frost
Ah religion, the last bastion of the hypocritical. Don't get me wrong, anyone can believe anything they want if it helps them to be a better person. But that freedom should only extend so far as their personal space. When people start to use that freedom to inflict pain or their will on others, that's when all the problems begin.
So to that end, when was it decided that we should have a government sponser religion? Did I miss a memo? Why should we have an administration (that is apt to invent and even reinvent information to suit their agenda) decide what we should believe? We, the American people, allow them to get away with too much already, now we'll let them control even more of our lives? But it's cool I guess, after all everything changes. Who needs Separation of Church and State. The Ten Commandments could use an updating anyway. "Thou shalt not kill... Unless you have a really good reason." or "Do unto others before they can do unto you."
Never mind that the goverment exists to serve our physical needs, and our own personal religion, whatever that may be, helps to serve our spiritual needs. Free will allows us to make asses of ourselves. After all it's mandated by God and country.
