The Association, a vocal group that had the No. 1 hits "Never My Love," "Windy" and "Cherish," will perform at the Southeast Family Weekend Oct. 6.
The concert will follow the university's football game against the University of Tennessee at Martin.
The Association was the first electric group to play many of the major venues in the 1960s, including Hollywood's Greek Theatre, The Copacabana and The Coconut Grove. They opened The Monterey Pop Festival in 1967.
The group broke up in the early 1970s but formed again after a 1979 reunion on cable TV. Two members of the group remain, Larry Ramos and Russ Giguere. Among the new members are Ramos' brother and a departed founder's son.
The Association follows last year's performance by Davy Jones of The Monkees.
Reserved seats are $17, general admission seats are $14, youth seats are $10. Children 6 and under will be admitted free. University students also will be admitted free.
Tickets include both the game and concert and can be ordered by calling 651-2113.
