Singers Franklin, Tyler announce engagements

NEW YORK -- Aretha Franklin has announced her engagement to longtime friend William "Willie" Wilkerson, and Steven Tyler has announced his engagement to Erin Brady.

Franklin said Monday that she and Wilkerson are considering a summer wedding, perhaps in Miami Beach, Fla. The Queen of Soul wants to follow the ceremony with a reception on a private yacht.

Franklin and Wilkerson became engaged over the holidays.

A representative for the 63-year-old Tyler, frontman for rock group Aerosmith, confirmed the engagement is true. Tyler is also one of the judges on "American Idol."
