The River Campus Art Gallery at Southeast Missouri State University will present four exhibitions of works by emerging artists in the Department of Art at the 2014 Graduating Seniors Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibitions, starting Monday and running through Dec. 19.
Works presented are in ceramics, digital art, graphic design, illustration, painting, printmaking and sculpture -- all representing the broad expanse of Southeast's art programs and the creativity of its students.
"We have four one-week shows for the BFA exhibitions so that each graduating senior has plenty of room to display the body of work they developed throughout their last two semesters of coursework in their area of specialization," said Kristin Powers Nowlin, gallery coordinator.
The first of the four exhibitions will open Monday, with a closing reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
The next exhibit will be displayed Dec. 1 through 5; its closing reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 5.
The third show will be on display Dec. 8 through 12, and a closing reception will take place 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 12.
The final exhibit will be open Dec. 15 through 19, with a closing reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 19.
All exhibitions and receptions will be in the River Campus Art Gallery, which is on the first floor of the Seminary Building in Room 106.
River Campus Art Gallery hours are from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 1 to 7 p.m. on First Fridays. All gallery exhibitions, events and talks are free to the public. For more information, contact Powers Nowlin at rcgallerycoordinator@semo.edu or 651-5901.
