People have constantly been asking me "Why are they making a new 'Incredible Hulk' movie? Didn't they just make one a couple of years ago?"

Well, yes, they did make "Hulk" in 2003, but if you actually saw that movie, then you know exactly why they're making a new one. "Hulk" was easily one of the worst superhero movies ever made and really needed to be remade if they were ever going to consider extending the franchise. Basically, the first one was a steaming pile of cow dung, figuratively speaking.

Marvel isn't calling "The Incredible Hulk" a remake, though. They're calling it a "reboot." I don't know what in the world that's supposed to mean, but whatever it is, it's much better than the last one.

"The Incredible Hulk" gets right to the point and ignores a lot of the background junk. Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) is the test subject of a supersoldier experiment. When the experiment goes wrong, Bruce turns into a giant green monster who is very strong and kind of reminds me of myself, besides the whole being green thing.

Bruce then decides to go into hiding in order to protect himself and others, including his girlfriend, Betty Ross (Liv Tyler). However, Bruce is found and General Ross (William Hurt) tries to capture him for research. In order to capture "the Hulk," General Ross enlists Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth) to be a test subject in yet another supersoldier program. Emil eventually turns into a giant monster, and boom, you've got yourself a giant monster fight in the middle of New York.

This battle in New York, along with the other big action sequences, is where this movie really shines. There's a lot of fighting, a lot of good explosions, and basically just a lot of good stuff. I mean, even the computer animated stuff looks good. They put a lot of effort into all of the action scenes and you can really tell.

I'm glad that Marvel Studios finally decided to take over their beloved franchises and start producing their own movies. "The Incredible Hulk" along with "Iron Man" has totally restored my faith in the superhero movie genre. And even though I wish the movie had more of a story than just a couple of guys trying to catch a big green dude, I really enjoyed it. "The Incredible Hulk" is the definition of a summer blockbuster. (And yes, I totally expect that line to appear on the back of the DVD cover.)
