REVIEW: 'Harold and Kumar' take off on another funny adventure

First of all, if you haven't seen "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle," do so immediately. It's not necessary to understand "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay," but it is an amazing movie and should definitely be seen.

"Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay" begins right where the last one left off. Harold and Kumar are on their way to Amsterdam to find the girl that Harold has a crush on. While on the plane they are accused of being terrorists and get sent to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. With the help of a dead guy and some Cubans, they manage to escape and make their way back to Miami. From there they try to make their way to Texas in order to clear their names.

While seeing "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle" isn't necessary, it will definitely help in making some things much funnier — the return of Neil Patrick Harris, for example. That's right, Neil Patrick Harris returns as Neil Patrick Harris. (That last sentence sounds much better if you read it using your best "movie trailer voice"). I don't know what it is about seeing this guy act like the most irresponsible human being on earth, but it is hilarious. It almost makes me want to start watching his most recent TV show "How I Met Your Mother."

Neil Patrick Harris isn't the only crazy character Harold and Kumar run into on their journey. They also have a run in with the KKK, some rednecks and their friend Raza, who decides to host not a topless party but rather a bottomless party. And just to warn you, they show a lot — there's a reason this movie's rated R.

The one character I think they could have done without, though, is George W. Bush. While it is funny, I couldn't help but think "man, this is stupid." I really think they could have come up with something better.

Aside from the George Bush part, I thought the movie was great. While it is not nearly as good as the first Harold and Kumar movie, it is still absolutely hilarious. They set the bar a little too high with "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle." The series could only go down from there. Either way, I'm ready for the next one.
