I might still be a 7-year-old girl at heart. It's Christmastime and I can't concentrate. I struggle to finish my to-do list at work. I'd rather be chatting with co-workers or wrapping presents for our office Secret Santa. Anything but the norm. It's Christmas, and I want it to feel different.

Not much differs in the day-to-day duties of a newsroom.

We uncover stories, interview sources and write articles. We design pages and print them. We keep a schedule and plan ahead for the dead time between Christmas and New Year's. News doesn't stop at Christmas, and so neither can we.

But we can have a little fun, can't we? My nerdy idea of fun this week was to take classic Christmas songs and fix them to fit the newsroom. Enjoy:

‘Jingle Bells'

Jingle bells, jingle bells,

Paper's on the way.

Full of news and photos too in your yard today, hey!

‘Newsroom wonderland'

Phones all ring, Are you listening?

At the pa-per news is breaking

A beautiful sight, we're writing tonight

Gone away is the bluebird

Here to stay is the tweet bird

We tweet a headline

The story's just fine,

Working in a newsroom wonderland.

‘Joy to the World'

Joy to the World, the paper's come!

Let Earth receive its news;

For every home from the news room,

And Mom and Dad both read,

And Mom and Dad both read,

And Mom, and Dad and kids all read.
