Was there really any doubt?
After a performance Tuesday on "America's Got Talent" that brought judges Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne and David Hasselhoff, and the entire live audience in Los Angeles, to their feet, Neal E. Boyd moved on to the next round when the first night's results were announced Wednesday.
In truth, there was little drama.
The show's format put pairs on stage out of the initial 10, with one from each pair getting the boot. Boyd was paired with Britney Spears impersonator Derrick Barry. It was impossible not to predict the outcome, but like a good sport, Boyd made it look like he was nervous, and when the verdict was announced he shook hands with the female impersonator.
The show went on, and 10 more acts performed their routines. Some were mediocre, some were good, some were really good. The best was -- once again -- saved for last. Her name was Queen Emily, an R&B powerhouse of a woman.
Morgan said she's the only one who's on the same level as Boyd. Hasselhoff declared her better, saying the Queen was the frontrunner.
We'll see how things shake out, but it seems that Boyd's got some tough competition. Personally, I hope the ZOOperstars make it pretty far. Those guys are hilarious.
