if you like heart-pounding, pulse-raising music you should have been at the SIU Arena in Carbondale on April 19th. Nickelback and Default put on one hell of a show for the MTV Campus Invasion Tour. I haven't seen so many college kids packed into an arena since freshman orientation. Besides their heartfelt lyrics and stunning voices, Nickelback and Default had the crowd jumping and I mean literally jumping. Mosh pits and body surfing was everywhere along with the occasional flashing by a few of the college girls.
And a "Good Job" goes out to SIU for not having chairs on the floor of the arena, which would have been a hazard for this crazy college crowd. Nickelback fed the flame of the crowd with their awesome solos and acoustic performances and then extinguished the crowd with huge water tanks. But that seemed to heat them up more than it cooled them off.
A "Good Job" also goes out to Nickelback for giving cowboy boots a new meaning and for giving us a new look to work toward. All I can say is that both bands, Nickelback and Default, gave stunning performances. I can't say much more for Injected, though. Maybe because I only saw them perform one line of a song and I must say it, "Cut your hair. That look went out with Axel Rose."
