Today from 9 to 11 p.m. he will perform an acoustic show at Jeremiah's, 127 N. Water St. and from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday he will perform at the River City Yacht Club above Port Cape, 19 N. Parade of Lights includes 100 entries

The annual Parade of Lights will take place at dusk Sunday starting at Capaha Park and heading down Broadway to Main Street. More than 100 entries are included in this year's parade, which will be full of lights, floats, music and candy. One mile ahead of the parade will be a one mile run/walk to raise money for the Toybox charity. Sign-up for the race is from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Sunday.

'Sing Along Messiah' rehearsal in Jackson

Area singers are welcome to attend the rehearsal for "A Sing Along Messiah" from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson. Singers should be familiar with the following Handel choruses: "And the Glory of the Lord," O, Thou That Tellest Good Tidings to Zion," "For Unto Us a Child is Born," "Glory to God" and "Hallelujah!" 'Choral Masterworks' comes to university

The Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra will perform with the university's choral union and university choir at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Academic Auditorium. Entitled "Choral Masterworks," the concert will feature choral and orchestral pieces from the Romantic period, which spanned from 1820 to 1910, as well as some holiday selections. Acoustic nights coming to Buckner Brewing Co.

At 9 p.m. Tuesday, Buckner Brewing Co. will hold The Traveling Acoustic Open Mic night, featuring musician Stephanie Fridley, although other musicians are encouraged to participate as long as they perform acoustic instruments. For more information, contact Jerry Swan at 270-5114.

Wind symphony concert planned at Southeast

The Southeast Wind Symphony of Southeast Missouri State University will perform its second concert of the fall semester at 8 p.m. Thursday at Academic Auditorium. Heartland Pops Orchestra performs holiday tunes

The Heartland Pops Orchestra and Chorus will perform "Holiday with the Pops" at 7 p.m. Thursday at Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. The show by the Heartland Pops Orchestra and Chorus will include 24 orchestra members and a 21-voice chorus. They will be joined by the Heartland Victorian Voices, a six-person a capella madrigal group and the Heartland Children's Chorus from Dexter, Mo. The production is directed by Jerry Ganiel, music minister at Immaculate conception Church in Jackson. For information, call 579-6127.
