NEW YORK -- Hulu is giving its viewers nothing to watch, in a big way.
The online network has landed exclusive subscription on-demand rights to "Seinfeld." All nine seasons of the hit comedy said to be "about nothing" will be streaming on Hulu starting in June, the network announced Wednesday at a presentation for advertisers.
The episodes, airing on TV in a slightly trimmed form, will be restored to their original NBC running time for Hulu, said series star Jerry Seinfeld, on hand to deliver the news.
Seinfeld suggested his show, produced from 1990 to 1998, wouldn't work in today's digital world. He wondered aloud what reason Kramer would ever have to bang on Jerry's apartment door, which was how so much of the comedy began.
"He would text me instead," Seinfeld said.
