The Southeast Missouri Symphony Board and Symphony Society will hold the sixth annual Gala Pre-Concert Dinner at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Glenn Convocation Center on the River Campus of Southeast Missouri State University, according to a university news release.
Proceeds from the five-course dinner, which precedes the "Harmonie" Mass concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Bedell Performance Hall, help fund Symphony Society scholarships and tours.
"The Symphony Scholarships have been very helpful in attracting and retaining talented symphony students at Southeast Missouri State University," said Sara Edgerton, professor of music at Southeast and conductor of the Southeast Missouri Symphony. "I am very grateful for the enthusiasm and assistance that the community has provided Southeast Missouri State University by supporting the university symphony's touring and scholarship programs."
Tickets for dinner may be reserved by contacting Beverly Delph at 651-2141 or at bdelph@semo.edu. The cost is $125 a person, and tickets must be reserved by Monday.
