The Arts Council will host "Subliminal: Hidden Message," a national juried exhibition presented by The Bank of Missouri. It will feature a variety of media including painting, digital art, printmaking and sculpture. Ali Cavanaugh, an internationally represented "modern fresco" artist, served as the exhibit juror. Award winners will be announced at 6 p.m. New works by the Visual Arts Cooperative also will be on display in the Jean Chapman Gallery. Window exhibitors for June include Visual Arts Cooperative artists Larry Braun and Melissa Whitaker.

The Painted Wren Art Gallery is owned and managed by Aaron Horrell, an artist from rural Chaffee, Missouri, who is working on a series of works called "BARBARON Minis" with co-artist Barb Bailey. The minis are transferred back and forth between the two artists, who independently paint on them with the freedom of painting over what the other has painted. A mini is "finished" when the artists agree to stop painting on it. Visitors to the Painted Wren Art Gallery can donate $1 and paint for a minute on a large painting. All donations and the completed painting will go to Easter Seals Midwest.

Join Galerie 109 for its Architects as Artists series featuring Montana-based architect Gene Trotter. Artwork by Miranda Taylor will be displayed. She is an artist who specializes in drawing with pencil and colored pencil.
