FIRST FRIDAY RECEPTIONS

The Artist Studio

The studio will feature new work by Judy Barks-Westrich. Also schedules will be available for February's painting with acrylics workshops.

Arts Council of Southeast Missouri

Artwork and poetry by children from 21 local schools will be on display as part of the 12th annual Children's Arts Festival. Opening reception from 4 to 8 p.m.

Gallery of Inspirations

Featuring works by consumer artists of the Community Counseling Center. Reception from 5 to 9 p.m.

The painted Wren Art Gallery

The gallery will showcase new works by several local artists, photographers and jewelry by Marcia Williamson. A 4-foot-long, framed canvas print of a painting by Aaron Horrell will be on display. The painting depicts the newly built Saint Francis Medical Center's Cancer Institute and Heart Hospital. The reception is from 5 to 9 p.m.

The pottery, paintings and glass works that make up Mozaic Art Studio will be on display until 9 p.m.

Black Door Gallery

Artist Trading Cards will be featured in this month's reception. Everyone who participated in the Artist Trading Cards Workshops will be on display. Trading will begin at 5 p.m.

River Campus Art Gallery

The gallery will hold a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. for its current exhibit of works by Emily Booth, Exhibitions Coordinator for the gallery and an instructor of art at Southeast Missouri State University.

Aartful Rose

Artwork by New Orleans resident and Hurricane Katrina survivor Will Paige will be featured. His works are created from pieces of rubble salvaged after the hurricane. Mardi Gras-themed food such as gumbo and etouffee will be available. The gallery will be teaming up with Eustis Studios for this reception, which will be from 5 to 10 p.m.

Eustis studios

The studio will feature its first annual collectors show for February. Artwork by various artists will be displayed. Karen Cauvin Eustis will feature her Spirit Series.

Edward Bernard Gallery

Perfume bottles by Garrett Keisling, as well as new jewelry and new wall ceramics by Lane Dynneson of Jackson will be on display. Cupcakes by Amy will be served. Open from noon to 8 p.m.

Art Shuttle

The First Friday shuttle, sponsored by Eustis Studios, will again transport patrons to various galleries participating in First Friday. The shuttle starts at the River Campus and drives to Aartful Rose, Eustis Studios, Black Door Gallery and Main Street. It runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
