Three and a half stars (out of four)
Being an avid movie fan I was looking forward to seeing "Corpse Bride."
Director Tim Burton is known for his offbeat films, and with this film I was not disappointed.
The story of a awkward young man who accidentally weds a young corpse while betrothed to another young woman is delightfully quirky. The movie's off-beat humor helps the storyline run smoothly and keep your attention.
The characters in the movie are fun and unforgettable. I was surprised that there were several funny musical numbers, which added to the film's wonderful score.
The classic mismatched lovers story was given a wonderful and odd twist, with the always present bad guy thrown in -- who, of course, gets his in the end.
These days so many movies are often just repeats of the same tired storyline or else everything is getting blown up. "Corpse Bride" is a refreshing change to the monotony.

I was really looking forward to seeing "The Corpse Bride" by Tim Burton, as I was a huge fan of "The Nightmare Before Christmas." I guess I had expected this to be a continuation of the first movie.
It wasn't, and I was rather disappointed.
"The Corpse Bride" is a weird, twisted movie that is hard to remain interested in. It bounces around quickly and is less than emotional. Personally, I had a hard time becoming involved with the characters.
This movie has been the biggest let-down in a while for me because I had been anticipating a good movie with good music. What I saw was a cheap knock-off of "The Nightmare before Christmas." What a disappointment!

What a bad movie! The plot was slow and very difficult to stay interested in.
While it's hard for me to say many nice things about this movie, I will say that the animation was good. That's about it.
Otherwise, I found it to be a complete waste of time. I've been more entertained watching paint dry! I can think of one perfect adjective for this movie: BORING!
