When you dig in the sand and discover an unexploded bomb, what do you do? The obvious answer, of course, is sell it on the black market. If you're a fanatic terrorist in need of a nuclear bomb, where do you look? The obvious place, of course, is the black market. When seller and buyer are hooked up, a chain of events is set into motion that is intended to cause a war between Russia and the United States.

Jack Ryan, CIA analyst (and hero), is reluctantly thrust into an active and unofficial role as a CIA agent. Will he save the day? Of course he will because that's what heroes do.

While some parts of "The Sum of All Fears" were predictable and other parts totally unnecessary to the plot, there was enough action in this thriller to keep me on the edge of my seat.
