Everybody's a critic - 'Shrek 2'

I was delighted with this week's movie, "Shrek 2." Although it was not as good as the first movie, it's worth seeing.

It began right where the first film left off. Shrek and Fiona are on their honeymoon, and the moment they return home they are greeted by Donkey and a message from her parents to come and visit them in the land of Far Far Away.

Fiona's parents are quite shocked at their arrival. They were expecting to see their daughter married to Prince Charming, not an ogre. There are several new characters that add some interesting twists. Puss-N-Boots is hired by the king to kill Shrek, but instead becomes Shrek's ally.

There is also the Fairy Godmother and Prince Charming, who turn out to be mother and son. There are a lot of funny twists and hilarious jokes.

This movie is a great flick for the whole family. I suggest everyone go and see it.

Though "Shrek 2" may not live up to the high standard of the original release, it still provides great entertainment and sends a worthwhile message.

It is not unusual to hear the heavily juvenile audiences clearly indicating a high approval rating by a steady stream of applause.

The general message of the movie is that beauty is only skin deep. Too bad there aren't more movies for children with such positive content. Parents and guardians would do well to take their children to see this movie.

The entertainment for adults comes from watching children respond and hearing them cackle out loud, whether any adult ever follows the storyline.
