NEW YORK -- The day after "Hamilton" won 11 Tony Awards, books related to the musical also are thriving. The paperback edition of Ron Chernow's 2004 biography about the country's first treasury secretary, the inspiration for Lin-Manuel Miranda's show, was No. 1 on Amazon.com as of midday Monday. A book about the show's creation, "Hamilton: The Revolution," was third on the best-seller list. The hardcover of Chernow's 800-page book was No. 14. Ranking at No. 2 on Amazon was yet another book based on a stage production, "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child -- Parts One & Two." The show, which J.K. Rowling has called a sequel to her seven Harry Potter novels, is in previews in London.
NEW YORK -- The author of "The Fight Club" has joined the coloring-book club. Dark Horse Books announced Monday that Chuck Palahniuk's "Bait: Off-Color Stories for You to Color" will come out this fall. "Bait" is a hybrid of short stories and black-and-white illustrations by a variety of artists readers can fill in. J.K. Rowling and George R.R. Martin are among the other writers whose books have been adapted for adult coloring books, which have sold millions of copies over the past year.
