'Alexander'

Starring Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie, Val Kilmer, Anthony Hopkins and Rosario Dawson. Oliver Stone's epic follows the life of Alexander the Great, who conquered most of the known world by the time he was 25. With a Greek and Macedonian army, Alexander tore through 22,000 miles of territory in eight years, building the world's largest empire. The film looks at the leader's relationship with his mother, Olympias; his friend and battlefield commander, Hephaistion; his Bactrian wife; and his trusted general, Ptolemy. 'Christmas with the Kranks'

Starring Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Cheech Marin, Jake Busey, M. Emmet Walsh and Dan Aykroyd. Curmudgeonly Luther and Nora Krank have had more than enough of Christmas, so they decide to skip the whole deal and go on a Caribbean cruise. But ducking the holiday season isn't as easy as they'd thought. Rated PG for brief language and suggestive content, running time 94 minutes. (Cape West Cine)
