A Valentines Day of outrageous comedy and music is coming to the West Park Convention Center located at the Holiday Inn in Cape Girardeau, on Friday, February 14, 2003. National touring headliner, Jeff Batts and opening act, singer, songwriter Nikki D will perform two shows at 8:00pm and 10:00pm. Nikki D. will perform her own brand of eclectic music, which is a mix of country, folk, and blues-y original tunes and some recognizable favorites, all done with a comic twist. Now a Columbia, MO resident, Nikki D. plays clubs and colleges from St. Louis, MO to Austin, TX. The headlining act is comedian, Jeff Batts. In 1989 Batts started his stand-up career in Orlando FL along side friends and famous comics like CarrotTop, Tom Rhodes and Darrell Hammond from Saturday Night Live. Since returning to Southern Illinois in 1994 Batts has toured the United States working in Comedy Clubs, Colleges and Concerts in more than forty states. He has opened for The Charlie Daniels Band, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Gallagher and his last Carbondale performance was in 2000 at the SIU Arena with "Weird Al" Yankovic. His television appearances include; The Howard Stern Show, MTV and Comedy Central. His one-of-a-kind show is a fast paced, high-energy mix of stand-up comedy, improvisation, wild characters and audience participation.
The event is for those 18 and older with show tickets priced at $12.00 with $10.00 tickets available for those with student I.D..
