Best bet: Third annual Cape Girardeau Storytelling Festival

The third annual Cape Girardeau Storytelling Festival will flood downtown with talkers, listeners and curious individuals who happen upon the three-day event. Tents will be set up on Broadway and at the River Campus. Storytellers from across the country will regale the audience with tales from their journeys, their families and life itself. This year, organizers set aside a time in the Merriwether tent devoted to storytellers from Cape Girardeau.

The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, and Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $30 for a three-day pass or $20 for students 6 through college. A one-day pass is $20 for adults or $10 for students. Family passes that admit two adults and four children are $110.
