Best Bet: Several area locations to host Halloween events

The Jackson Knights of Columbus and Ladies Auxiliary will host a party at 5:30 p.m. today at the Jackson KC Hall. A Halloween Hoopla starts at 6 p.m. today at the Shawnee Park Center; entry for the costume contest is $1, and each additional activity will cost 50 cents. A Masquerade Ball starts at 7:30 p.m. today at the American Legion Hall in Cape Girardeau; cost is $5. Halloween Karaoke starts at 8 p.m. today at Frisco's in Chaffee, Missouri; Frisco's also will host a costume and dance party starting at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Boo at the Zoo will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Lazy L Safari Park. Halloween Shredfest starts at 6 p.m. Saturday at Pitter's in Cape Girardeau, including a costume contest and live music by Emaciation, Eurydice, Shugyo, Cycle of Ruin and more. Ragsdales will host a Halloween party at 8 p.m. Saturday, with a costume contest and music from Rhyme 4 Reason.
